How to build a pc

It’s best to know what you will be using your PC for. This will help you determine what you need to focus on when building.

“If you want a project that can save you money short term and long term, then building a PC is perfect for you,” says Joseph Wolter, a student currently studying comp sci at university. Building your PC gives you the privileges of customization and personalization as well as saving money on specific components that you don’t need.

The first step to building your PC is determining what you will be using it for. Comp Sci students use their computers for coding, gamers use computers for gaming, and others just use their computers for everyday office use. Regardless of what you use your computer for, the main components of a computer remain the same. However, you can save money on a CPU if you are just using your computer for everyday office use. You can also save money on a monitor if you don’t need it for intensive gaming. If you don’t care about what your PC looks like, you can also save money on all the decorative fans and LED lights.

If possible, I recommend watching the prices of CPU components for at least a few weeks. The prices of these parts fluctuate so you can get them at a cheaper time to save money. You can always start with cheaper components and upgrade them over time. The main components you need for a PC include case, motherboard, CPU, memory, storage, power supply, graphics card, and don’t forget a monitor. You will need tools to help you out with this process. The PC parts should just snap into place onto the motherboard, however, don’t press too hard or else it WILL break! Every motherboard is a little bit different so if you do not know where the pieces go, you can always look on their website for more information.

“This may all sound very confusing at first but it is not as hard as it looks. If you do not have a lot of patience and time to research the prices of PC parts, buying a prebuilt one might be the best for you. You can always upgrade components over time,” says Joseph.

Importance of Dress Codes

Portrait Of High School Student Group Wearing Uniform Standing Outside School Buildings

Many people don’t like the idea of having uniforms and dress codes in school because it limits freedom of expression. However, students can still express themselves by wearing jewelry, dying their hair, etc.
There are also many disadvantages to the freedom to wear anything to school.

One of the disadvantages of not having dress codes is bullying. Kids may bully each other based on what they are wearing because they think that their clothing is better. Another big disadvantage is that kids get easily distracted if everyone wears what they want. One example is when younger kids wear super sparkly clothing to school. This distracts many other students around them because they are interested in what others are wearing.

Uniforms also help students get ready faster in the morning because they don’t have to spend extra time picking out a good outfit. This is especially helpful because school often starts very early and students don’t get enough sleep. Sleep is very crucial to students, especially if they want to focus and do well in school.
Wearing uniforms and having dress codes can also serve as a safety precaution. Kids are less able to hide weapons and school administration can easily see who is who. That way there won’t be any unidentifiable people entering the building.

Many may argue that uniforms are uncomfortable, however, there are many different styles of uniforms that you can choose from. Clothing brands also strive to make uniforms as comfortable as possible. Some also argue that uniforms can cost more than needed. This issue can be solved easily by school fundraisers and schools selling uniforms for cheaper.

Overall, I believe that the benefits of uniforms outweigh the negatives. Uniforms would be a great addition to many schools because they help with branding and boosting academic learning. Uniforms can also make the school a safe space for everyone because it can decrease the chances of bullying.

The Cherry Pit

As I sat in the cramped office room, surrounded by anxious strangers and the sterile antiseptic smell, I knew something was about to change. My heart raced as I tried to control my breathing and tamp down the rising panic. I was seven years old and I was fully convinced that if I swallowed a cherry pit, a cherry tree would grow inside my stomach.
As a child, I always forgot to spit out the cherry pit. To prevent me from choking, my parents would tell me that if I swallowed a pit, a cherry tree would grow inside me. When you are seven years old, you believe everything your parents tell you with no skepticism at all. Ever since then, I have been very careful about spitting out cherry pits.
But no matter how careful you are, accidents always happen. One summer day, I was playing outside eating cherries and chasing butterflies when I suddenly felt something in my throat. It was the cherry I had been chewing on for the past few minutes. I ran to my parents crying hysterically as I tried to form coherent sentences through my tears. I told them that I swallowed a cherry pit and then immediately followed up with the question, “Is a tree going to grow inside of me? I don’t want to die”. My little seven-year-old self demanded my parents take me to the hospital.
At the doctor’s office, they told me that I was perfectly fine and a cherry tree would not be growing in my stomach even if I wanted it to. After hearing this, I looked at my parents with confusion. I wasn’t upset with them for lying to me, more so, I was relieved. I had been living in fear that my favorite fruit in the whole world would accidentally kill me. I was so excited to hear that I could eat cherries without any fear of a cherry tree growing in my stomach.
Looking back at this event, it makes me miss and reminisce about the naivety of being a little child. Learning about all the harmless little white lies our parents used to tell us and realizing how simple and easy life was. We grow, we learn, and we lose that sense of innocence. We face society and realize that life isn’t as simple as we imagined. In a sense, we are similar to cherry pits, we can’t grow in random environments, and we have to find one that is just right for us.

What High School Is Like In 2023

High school in 2023 is very overwhelming. Most high school students have something to say about COVID-19 and how online learning has impacted their learning. Personally, I think that online learning is something that could work, but not with high school students. High school students have very low motivation to work on something especially if it’s not at school. Online school feels very optional and a lot of teachers made the homework optional which was not good. That decision is what made many high schoolers feel like school is very optional and why they don’t have much motivation at all. Lately, there has been a highlight on the new strain of COVID-19 that has been causing many students to get sick and many schools to shut down. Many students are happy about this because they can go back to online courses, while others who really want to learn are upset about it.

Another issue that spiked during COVID-19 was mental health. The decrease in social interactions really impacted a lot of people’s mental health. When kids are more depressed, they will have a decline in motivation. With this decline in motivation, there have been more and more students failing. When students are failing, they often feel like they aren’t good enough and don’t try to pick up their grades. This causes them to fall into an endless cycle.

AI has also been vital to many high school students. There is an ongoing debate about whether AI is good or not. I think that AI is good for generating ideas and can definitely help you type out some generic essays. It is very important to not plagiarize and copy it word for word. It is very important to change it into your own words and use AI to help you.

The education system is really bad because students don’t need to learn to get an A in a class. Students can cram study the night before an exam and pass the test, but that doesn’t mean they understand the topics. Students are going to school to pass, not to learn. I don’t think that the grading system accurately shows how much a student is learning. It just shows how good they are at turning in assignments and passing tests. Studies show that students who graduate high school don’t even retain half the information they learned during school.

Overall, I think that high schoolers are very overwhelmed and don’t really learn anything at school. Mental health has also spiked and students are losing motivation for school.
